Saint Petersburg

Faberge Museum

Description:

Carl Faberge is the only man in the world whose eggs are still appreciated!
And in the Faberge Museum, where we will go with a dozen of them!

They will certainly become the central point of the tour, but believe me, we are waiting for a lot of interesting and masterpieces!

The Faberge Museum is located within the walls of the Shuvalov Palace, one of the most beautiful mansions of St. Petersburg, which in its history belonged to a number of famous aristocratic families.

In the exhibition halls, in addition to the magnificent and very diverse products of Carl Faberge’s company, we will see the largest collection of Russian enamels among museum collections, as well as icons in jewelry salaries, Russian silver.

The cost of many, even the smallest jewelry items, of those that you will see is equal to the cost of an apartment in St. Petersburg or Moscow!

Behind many of the exhibits are interesting stories that I will tell you.

The Faberge Museum also presents secular painting.
Paintings by Repin, Renoir, Semiradsky, Aivazovsky, Korovin.

For me personally, as a historian, the collection of the Faberge Museum is an illustration of the history of the last two reigns of the Russian Empire. The era of stability of Alexander III and the time of Nicholas II, when on the one hand the aestheticization of everyday life reached its peak, and on the other, the “end of a beautiful era” and the “long XIX century” were approaching.
