Faberge Museum in the Naryshkin-Shuvalov Palace
The Faberge Museum is a unique phenomenon. In the early 2000s, Viktor Vekselberg’s private foundation “Connection of Times” began to create a collection of Russian jewelry art and in 2013 made it public, opening the first private museum in Russia.
Now the collection has about 4000 items of the 18-20 centuries and is constantly replenished.
The basis of the collection is the masterpieces of the firm of Carl Faberge, a jeweler of the imperial court.
The main exhibits are 9 Easter eggs, which the last Russian emperors presented to their spouses.
It is worth canceling the museum building itself - the restored palace of the aristocratic Naryshkin-Shuvalov family.
Walking through the magnificent ceremonial halls, we learn about the owners and their way of life, explore the collection of Easter eggs, diplomatic gifts, silverware, jewelry and useless but beautiful precious things that Karl Faberge called objets d’art.
