Peterhof
Description:
Peterhof is often compared to Versailles, but nowhere in the world is there such a combination of the sea, magnificent fountains and cascades, beautiful palaces. The water supply system of Peterhof and the principle of functioning of fountains were conceived and implemented in the early 18th century, since then this huge hydraulic structure worked almost uninterruptedly (except during the Great Patriotic War). Peter the Great attached great importance to park art and personally commissioned trees and plants in Europe. While walking through the park, we will try to see four large cascades, the most beautiful fountains and, of course, fountains. We will go to the sea and admire the open views. In addition to purely aesthetic pleasure, we will talk about the history of the creation and operation of this grandiose hydraulic structure. This tour is designed for 5-6 hours. If you want to see the architectural masterpieces of the city of Peterhof and the surrounding area, as well as to personally make sure that there is a Peterhof water conduit and visit the main "nodes" of this structure, then you should count on 8-9 hours.
