Three suburbs in one day. Peterhof-Oranienbaum-Kronstadt

We will tour the most unique places that played a sacred role in the history of the formation of the young Russian Empire and the defense of the unbroken Leningrad. Oraninbaum is the first country grand residence in Russia. It was here, before the completion of the construction of Peterhof, representatives of foreign countries were to marvel at the greatness of the rapidly changing Russia. The residence of the "semi-power ruler" - A.D. Menshikov, who was the closest associate and close friend of Peter I, for a long time was the "Small Court", where during the reign of Elizabeth Petrovna, lived the future Emperor Peter III and the future Empress Catherine II. Lomonosov-Oranienbaum was not captured during the Great Patriotic War and Oranienbaum bridgehead became the starting point for the operation to lift the blockade of Leningrad.

Kronstadt is a city of military glory, standing on the defense of St. Petersburg and Leningrad. Here, each stone reminds us of the heroism of Russian and Soviet sailors, of brilliant scientists who worked for the glory of the Fatherland. The unique system of alluvial islands-forts, conceived by Peter the Great, played a key role both in the Northern War of 1700-1721 and in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. And in the heart of Kronstadt stands the unique beauty of the Kronstadt Sea Cathedral - the main sea temple in Russia.

Kronstadt and Oranienbaum are connected by a complex of protective structures - a dam, which since 2012 has become a reliable protection of St. Petersburg from floods. We will drive along the southern section of the dam, where part of the highway goes into a tunnel laid under the bottom of the Gulf of Finland at a depth of 25 meters.

And, of course, the capital of the Fountains is Peterhof, a place that needs no introduction. Peter the Great managed to build a residence that eclipsed Versailles. The palaces and pavilions of Peterhof were built by the best architects for 200 years. Masterpieces of garden and park art cannot leave anyone indifferent. And the most important thing in Peterhof is the fountains! About 200 fountains, not counting fountains on 4 luxurious cascades, beat in Peterhof. We will take a leisurely stroll through the western part of the Lower Park, see the Grand Peterhof Palace from the best angles, and finish our walk in the eastern part of the park, where since Peter's time entertain guests with fountains-jokes.
