What's the power, brother? Excursion to St. Petersburg of the film "BRAT"

20 years of legendary film! 1997. The '90s is not over yet. In a country where everything is plundered, divided, cut, and the future seems even bleaker than the hopeless gray present, where total poverty borders on the luxury of a new “criminal aristocracy”, where lawlessness reigns, mockery of the weak is elevated to the rank of exploits, where the very concept of “justice” is given to criminal authorities, “good” sits a beaten dog deep under the bench and is afraid to stick out its nose, and “force” and “violence” are simply synonymous... The film "Brother" with Sergei Bodrov Jr. is released on the screens. Like a breath of fresh air, like light at the end of a tunnel, like hope. The film became not just a cult, for many, he became a guiding star in a harsh reality, rediscovered the concepts of “truth”, “justice”, “good”.

Filming took place in St. Petersburg, most of it on Vasilievsky Island. At that time, I was a schoolboy and, like all schoolchildren, “to the holes” watched a videotape with the film, climbed all the yards and nooks that flashed in it.
