First day

Here, for the first time in the history of world restoration practice, grandiose work was carried out on the scale and complexity of the revival of the unique frescoes of the Church of the Transfiguration on Kovalev destroyed during the Great Patriotic War.

12:00 - Excursion to the open-air museum in the Vitoslavitsa Museum

During the sightseeing tour of the Vitoslavlitsy MNDZ, visitors will get acquainted with the history of the creation and development of the architectural and ethnographic museum Vitoslavlitsy and the fate of the transported monuments. Our staff will tell about the features of wooden architecture and traditions of carpentry craft. Guests will visit architectural monuments with ethnographic expositions and learn about the traditional life and economy of Novgorod peasants of the second half of the XIX – early XX century.
