Retzova Polina
Leningrad region, Saint Petersburg
About me and my experience
Welcome to my page!
My name is Polina and I am an accredited tour guide to St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.
If you would like to visit Tsarskoye Selo, then I will gladly organize your trip there with excursion support. Additionally, you can visit an individual master class on working with amber from the restorer of the amber room. And of course, try amber vodka!
In the warm season, you should definitely ride along the rivers and canals of St. Petersburg, because it is from the water that St. Petersburg opens from a completely different side than from the car window.
I will arrange a water trip for you on comfortable boats.
We'll visit Peterhof, Kronstadt. Let’s take a look at the only museum in Russia.
And for those guests of the city who are not here for the first time, I will personally show the palace of Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich Romanov closed for free visit. The palace is not a museum, but belongs to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
I also invite you to my walking tour of Vasilievsky Island, at the end of which I highly recommend visiting the historical apartment of the Benois family, in which the descendants of this architect still live. In Benoit's apartment you will find a concert program and a welcome glass of proseco or brute.
See you soon!
My services and offers
1. Sightseeing tour on a comfortable minibus is the best solution for the first acquaintance with St. Petersburg.
You will see and visit the main attractions of the city - the Peter and Paul Fortress, the Peter and Paul Cathedral, the famous Spit of Vasilievsky Island, the Peter and Paul Fortress, the cruiser Aurora, the ensemble of the Smolny Monastery, Nevsky Prospect, St. Isaac's Cathedral, the Admiralty. During the sightseeing tour, we definitely take a walk, take photos.
Duration from 3 hours;
2. Walking tour of Vasilievsky Island (I was born on this island). St. Petersburg stands on the islands, but it is the Vasileostrovians who are called islanders.
A trip to St. Petersburg I would start with Vasilievsky Island, because Peter I conceived the center of the new capital here, on the largest island of the city. The conceived system of canals for the movement of citizens on boats explains the unofficial name of the city "Venice of the North". For various reasons, this idea was not implemented, the channels were filled. A reminder of Peter’s plan are 27 parallel lines (14 streets) and three avenues perpendicular to them.
During a walk around the island we will see the buildings of the 18th century, talk about the mystical pharmacy of Dr. Peel, try to unravel the mystery of the sphinx on the embankment, walk in the coolness of the Academic Garden and if you are lucky, see the smallest equestrian monument of the city. If you wish, you can visit the apartment of the court architect L.N. Benoit and listen to a story about this family.
3. Individual excursion to the Vladimir Palace. Duration of 1.5-2 hours;
4. "Visiting the court jeweler" (Fabergé Museum). Duration of 1 hour;
Upon request, I will organize a visit to the closed palaces of St. Petersburg: the Brusnitsyn mansion, Kelkh, Eliseevs.
