1st Elagin Bridge
city of St. Petersburg, Russia 8.2 m
Description:
1-Elagin bridge connects the islands of Elagin and Kamensky and allows you to cross the Srednaya Nevka, a stream in the Neva delta. The name is taken from the island of Elagin, which in turn was named in honor of the owner Ivan Perfilievich Elagin. In 1817 it became the first wooden bridge leading to Elagin Island. In 1909-1910 it was completely redesigned taking into account the movable structure. Subsequently, the bridge was rebuilt several times and overhauled, as a result of which it practically ceased to differ from the 3-Elagin bridge, and a bust of Kirov appeared on the bridge square.
The nearest metro station to the bridge - "Cross Island" from the short to 1-Elagin bridge can be reached along Rukhin Street past the Second Yelagin Bridge upstream.
