2nd Krustein Bridge

St. Petersburg, Russia

Description:

The 2nd Krustein Bridge is located in St. Petersburg, Admiralty District and runs through the Admiralty Canal, connecting New Holland and the Second Admiralty Island. Handbooks suggest that in 1836 the bridge was called "Cast iron", because it was made of this material. The bridge is now called the 2nd Krustein Bridge, in honor of the revolutionary and admiral. The new name was given to the bridge in the 1950s, when the canal had such a name. The architect of this reinforced concrete bridge with a frame structure was Noskov, and the engineer Kulikov. In the immediate vicinity is the complex of New Holland, which connects to the 2nd Admiralty Island through the 2nd Krustein Bridge. The nearest metro station to the bridge is Admiralty.

The construction of the bridge is lined with granite in 1958-1959. The length of the bridge is 15 meters, and the width is 10 meters. Nearby, the Admiralty Canal intersects with Moika. The fence of the bridge has an artistic forging with an ornament repeating the drawings of the fence on the Moika embankment.
