3rd Elagin Bridge

primorsky, St. Petersburg, Russia

Description:

The Third Elagin Bridge is the main entrance to the Central Park of Culture and Rest named after Kirov. The bridge passes through Bolshaya Nevka to Elagin Island. Back in 1840, the bridge was rebuilt into a beam-shaped drawbar, but the wiring of the bridge was carried out only manually using winches. Yelagin bridge was repaired and reconstructed many times, in 1951 it was made the 8th span by the project of engineers Demchenko and Blazhevich. At the moment, the bridge is equipped with welded and metal systems with eight main two-taur beams, pairwise interconnected. The draw span itself is single-winged with a fixed axis of rotation of the divorce system. The construction of the bridge is concrete, and the base is a natural, tower type of intermediate supports. The length of the bridge is 92 meters, the width is 11.5 meters. Drawings of metal railings of the bridge are similar to drawings of the bridges of Elagin I and II. On the upper side there is a wooden guard pavilion,

In 2008, Elagin Bridge was completely dismantled, and on the same site was built a three-span metal bridge, which we see to this day.
