3rd Kamennoostrovsky Bridge

St. Petersburg, Russia

Description:

The 3rd Kamennoostrovsky Bridge is located in Petrogradsky and runs through the channel of the Bolshaya Nevka embankment, the extreme northern river of the Neva Delta. It is located half a kilometer from the Litey Bridge along the channel. The bridge divides the Petrograd and Vyborg sides, falling into the lower lip from the arrow below Yelagin island. Big Nevka washes on the left bank of the island of Pharmacy, Elagin, Petrograd and Kamenny. The total length of the river Big Nevka reaches 7.9 km, and the width ranges from 50 meters and to places where it is more than a hundred, in depth there are places about 9 meters. To the left of Nevka leaves the river Karpovka, and to the right flows Black river. Since the eighteenth century, many wooden pedestrian bridges and not very large transport bridges were thrown on Stone Island. The design of the 3rd Kamennoostrovsky bridge is a wooden beam of five spans, the length was 20 meters.

In 1938, the bridge was completely dismantled. This decision was caused by the need for complete cleaning of the Small Channel duct. To this day, there is a three-span bridge on the site, built already according to the project of A.V. Andreevsky.
