3rd Rzhevsky Bridge
ooh Kovalevskaya, St. Petersburg, Russia
Description:
The bridge is located near Kovalevskaya Street in St. Petersburg, is its actual continuation. The Porokhovy-Rzhevka area is the oldest, and the name of all Rzhevsky bridges is borrowed from the Rzhevka River. In the series of bridges there are no initial links, like the 1st and 2nd Rzhevsky bridges. They were formerly located on the territory of the Porokhov cemetery, but were dismantled in 1970. This bridge is designed for pedestrian traffic. In the 1930s, the bridge was outside the city. The span structure of the bridge is metal. There used to be a regular fence on the bridge.
The project of engineer Feldman initiated the reconstruction of the bridge in 1988-1990 into a single-span, metal bridge of the beam-cutting system. Metal welded beams N55 were used in the construction of spans. The foundations of the bridge are lightweight, and the coating is expensive asphalt concrete on an orthotropic plate. At each end of the bridge, round concrete stands can be observed at the ends of the railing welded metal fence with a simple pattern.
The total length of the bridge is 14.96 meters, and its width is 2.25 meters.
