3rd Red Army Street

The 3rd Red Army Street is located in the Admiralty District of St. Petersburg. It runs from Moscow Avenue to Izmailovsky Prospect. Since the mid-18th century, the area was known as the 3rd Company or the 3rd Company of the Izmailovsky Regiment. This street served as the location of the 3rd company of the Izmailovsky Life Guards regiment. In order to establish Soviet terminology and in contrast to the previous name, on October 6, 1923, the street was renamed in honor of the Red Army.
