Armenian Apostolic Church
Description:
On February 18, 1780, the Armenian Archbishop Joseph (Argutinsky) with the participation of eight priests and in the presence of Prince G. A. Potemkin-Tavrisky consecrated the temple in the name of the Great Martyr Catherine, the heavenly patroness of the Empress. The church became the center of Armenian culture in St. Petersburg: a printing house and a national school were opened under it.
To get to the St. Petersburg Armenian Apostolic Church, go to the metro station Gostiny Dvor on the side of Nevsky Prospekt. Walk along Sadovaya Street and cross Nevsky Prospect. Turn left and walk along the Grand Palace Mall to the entrance to the patio. The church is in it. The journey from the subway takes no more than four minutes in a brisk step, so do not worry that you will get lost.
When using other modes of transport, you can focus on the shopping center. The entrance you need will be parallel to Nevsky Prospect.
