The Great Obukhov Bridge
CAD (57 kilometers inside), St. Petersburg
Description:
The Great Obukhovsky Bridge, also called the "Cable-Up Bridge", is not a drawbridge, stretches across the Neva River. It distinguishes the Nevsky and Vsevolozhsky districts of the Leningrad region by the middle course of the Neva.
The cable-stayed bridge is considered one of the longest in all of Russia. If you look at the design of the bridge, it consists of two separate with opposite sides of the movement, while the bridges are built under a slight slope. This can be felt while driving on the cable-stayed bridge in a car - it is better to hold the steering wheel and not remove your hands from it.
The only non-movable bridge across the Neva River, opened in the winter of 2004 and fully commissioned in 2007. Dense traffic across the bridge is ensured by the fact that the cable-stayed bridge is a segment of the CAD. The length of the bridge is almost three thousand meters (2824 m), and the bridge itself is 382 meters. The name of the bridge gave the whole of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, participating in the voting. There were other options, for example: “Izhorsky”, “Leningrad”, “Nevsky” and others.
