Duderhof lake

Russia, St. Petersburg, Krasnoselsky district.

Description:

Lake Duderhofskoye is located in St. Petersburg in Krasnoselsky district. It is located near the village of Mozhaisky, which was formerly called Duderhof. Krasnoselsky district is located above sea level. Therefore, Lake Duderhof is also quite high - at 79.9 measures above sea level. The lake has an elongated shape, its length is 1.4 kilometers, and its width is only 400 meters. The average depth of the lake is about 4 meters.

One version of the origin of the lake sounds like this: a dam was built on the Liga River and formed Lake Duderhof. There is a hypothesis about the glacial origin of Duderhof. Now the lake is fed by melt and rain waters. From it flows the river Duderhofka.

Lake Duderhof is currently a resting place for residents of St. Petersburg. A few years ago, carp was launched into the lake, which took root well and bred in the lake.
