Graapov bridge

192007, St. Petersburg, Volkovka River Embankment, 21, Graapovsky Bridge

Description:

Graapovsky Bridge passes over the Volkovka River in St. Petersburg, and it was built in 1914. It is a continuation of the Dnipropetrovsk (Ekaterinoslavskaya) street of the municipal district Ligovka-Yamskaya in the Central district. Back in 1914, a wooden beam bridge in one span was built here. The name for the bridge comes from the surname of the Graapov brothers, who owned the forest exchange in the XX century.

By 1963, a new bridge was built with reinforced concrete foundations and metal fences, as well as granite pillars at the edges. The total width of the bridge is 20.4 meters, and its length is 27.8 meters. The authors of the bridge project were engineer Yurkov and architect Noskov.
