territory of Peter and Paul Fortress, St. Petersburg, Russia

Description:

Ioannovsky Bridge is the oldest bridge in St. Petersburg. It connects 2 islands: City and Hare, through the Kronverk Strait.

When they say that the bridge saw the birth of the city, they do not exaggerate. The structure was erected in 1703. Initially, the bridge was wooden, but after a couple of years it was made stone.

The bridge offers a truly wonderful view of the cultural sights of the city. To the left of it is visible embankment of the famous Troitsky Park, and in the future looms embankment of the palace.

The total length of the bridge is just over 150 meters. And it's 10 meters wide.
