One of the most revered and visited churches of St. Petersburg is the Prince Vladimir Cathedral on the Petrograd side. Even in times of persecution, this temple was active. In the design of this cathedral took part at different times famous Russian architects Trezzini, Rinaldi, Zemtsov.
The magnificent five-domed cathedral is visible from afar. The bell tower rises to a height of 57 meters. In honor of Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir (whose name is associated with the baptism of Rus) the temple received its name. The interior of the temple is characterized by simplicity and rigor; it disposes to prayer. The iconostasis of the cathedral is a masterpiece of wooden carving.
The temple is located on the Petrograd side, in the Assumption Square, near the metro station "Sportivnaya". Near the temple on Dobrolyubov Avenue there are stops of trams No. 6, 40; trolleybus No. 7; bus No. 191.Address: Blokhina street house 26.
