Levashov Avenue
Description:
Levashovsky Prospect is located in the Petrogradsky district of St. Petersburg. It runs from Kamennoostrovsky Avenue to the embankment of Admiral Lazarev. This area of the city appeared in the middle of the 18th century as the main road through the territory of the Powder (Green) Plant. Initially, it was called Zelenina dacha, because in this area there were cottages that could be removed for the whole summer. In 1860, St. Petersburg Governor-General N.V. Levashov took up the improvement of the district. On March 5, 1871, the street received the status of a prospectus and its modern name. The last changes on the map of this area occurred in 1966, when an unnamed section from Ordinarnaya Street to Chkalovsky Prospekt and Kvashnina Street were attached to the avenue.
