Description:

CPCIO is located on Elagin Island.

It was named after I.P. Elagin, since the first stone palace was built under him. And it was Elagin who made it so that everyone can visit the park.

The modern name of the park appeared in 1932 in honor of the Soviet figure Kirov.

Now the CPC is a place for family holidays. In summer, there are cafes, tennis courts and a boat station on its territory, and in winter there is a free skating rink.

In the 18th century, the ownership of the island passed from one noble family to another, including Potemkin, Orlov, and others. However, the island is named after the director of the court theater I.P. Elagin, since the first stone pavilions and a palace were built under it. Elagin also made the park open to the public.

After the acquisition of the estate by Alexander the First, architect K. Rossi was invited to rebuild the palace, who also completed the Kitchen, Stable and Orangery building.

The park itself from French was redesigned according to the English type, the ponds were connected by ducts and bridges, which made it possible to completely circumnavigate the park by boat.

The modern name of the park appeared only in 1932 in honor of the Soviet statesman and politician S.M. Kirov.

Now the CPC is a place for family holidays. In summer, there are cafes, tennis courts and a boat station on its territory, and in winter there is a free skating rink. Various exhibitions are held in the Elagin Palace.
