Malokhtinsky Park
Description:
Malokhtinsky Park is located in Krasnogvardeysky district of St. Petersburg near the metro station "Novocherkasskaya" between two famous rivers: Neva and Okhta.
Despite the fact that the park has been open for a long time, since 1960, major reconstruction was carried out in it only in 2008. As a result of repair work, sick and old trees were replaced with new young ones, flower beds were equipped, tiled paths were laid, benches were put up, sports and playgrounds were organized, and a pond located in the center of the park was cleaned.
In the autumn of 2011, an exhibition of urban sculpture officially opened in Malookhta Park, which includes eight unusual, but very organically fit into the overall picture of the park, works by St. Petersburg sculptors dedicated to the year of Italy and Spain in Russia (Dali the contemplative, Terra Italia, Venice, Lovers, Flamenco and others). The exhibition was opened as part of the Symposium on Urban Sculpture, the main theme of which was: “Modern sculpture as a tool for shaping the aesthetics of the urban environment”.
