Opochininsky Garden in the city of St. Petersburg

Cash Street, 1

Description:

Opochininsky Garden is a small park, planned in landscape style and surrounded by a hedge of roses, located on Vasilievsky Island. Its opening was in 1937 on the site of a wasteland.

In 2011, the Alley of Love was opened on the territory of the garden, and a heart-shaped tree cast from metal was put in the center.

To the crown of this tree, newlyweds attach locks “from their hearts”, and the keys are lowered in a forged chest, which is securely attached to the trunk of the tree. On the day of the grand opening, several couples fixed their locks, marking the beginning of this beautiful tradition, and every year the number of “locks of happiness” becomes more and more.

The garden is open to visitors at any time and for everyone, and the Alley of Love in the summer months is decorated with live plants and flowers.

In addition to the fact that the park has become a traditional place for walking newlyweds and couples in love, it is also well suited for walking with children, as it is equipped with several playgrounds with playgrounds.
