Oak Park
sestroretsk, Dubkovskoye Sh., 42
Description:
Park "Dubki" is located in the resort area, in the city of Sestroretsk.
In 1714, by decree of the great emperor, Peter the Great, the construction of the summer residence of the emperor began on the site of the modern park, and several thousand oaks were planted, two hundred of which Peter himself planted.
The purpose of such extensive planting was to replenish the reserves of wood necessary for the construction of ships.
Unfortunately, the building of the emperor’s palace has not survived to this day, but the park itself is now recognized as a valuable historical and cultural object.
Park "Dubki" is a popular place for walking, it is often visited not only by locals, but also by guests of the city. In summer, attractions open in the park, here you can ride boats, there is an equestrian sports complex, and in winter - a large open ice rink.
