Park Kurakina Dacha in the city of St. Petersburg

Description:

Kurakina Dacha was built by architect Ivan Johanson in 1869. The first owner of the estate was Baron Cherkasov, and after him the mansion was transferred to the disposal of Senator Kurakin. Further, the estate was inherited by the children of the senator, and at the beginning of the XIX century the estate was purchased for the Alexander Manufactory. In 1837, a women's orphanage was established here. After the October Revolution, a boarding school was opened in the estate, and eventually the House of Pioneers. In the park, birch trees, chestnuts, fruit trees and shrubs are planted, which delight visitors to this day. Spring and summer are the best time to enjoy the singing of birds and the freshness of blooming flowers and leaves. In 2016, after a large-scale reconstruction, the park found a new face: now it has become even more cozy and everything has appeared for a comfortable stay.
