Enclosures in Lower Park

Description:

The aviaries are the only surviving wooden pavilions of the first quarter of the 18th century. They retained their original appearance, miraculously surviving during the Great Patriotic War.

The enclosures were created in 1722 according to the project of N. Michetti.

In total, there are 2 enclosures in the park (the second one near the Sun fountain).

In both aviaries (birds) in the 18th century in the summer, copper gilded cages with nightingales, thrushes, canaries, parrots, hummingbirds were placed and hung.

Today in the Volliers there is a museum, which is open from 10.30 to 17.30 daily.
