Malo-Petrovsk Bridge
Novoladozhskaya Street, Craftsnaya Street, St. Petersburg, Russia
Description:
Malo-Petrovsky bridge is thrown over the river Zhdanovka. The first hinged structure dates back to 1840. But a few years later, the bridge became unusable, it was restored, which extended the service life of the bridge for another forty years. In 1883 it was completely dismantled. The new bridge was made according to completely different drawings. But this construction did not stand for a long time. After the revolution of 1917, concerned about the unsafe condition of the bridge, local residents raised the question of its reconstruction. The bridge was completely transformed. It became an arched single-span (author of the project A. Bastrygin). It was made of reinforced concrete and has reached our time. Its width is 19 meters, and its length is 50. Due to the small width, traffic jams often form in this place, especially during peak hours. One side of the bridge overlooks the Petrograd Island, the other - on Petrovsky Island.
You can get there by metro or bus and taxi.
