Description:

The lower park of Peterhof is decorated with the pier “Petrodvorets”. Previously, the use of Petrovsky harbor was allowed during celebrations, as well as for household purposes, with the unloading of large and small ships that brought a variety of goods to the territory of Peterhof. On certain days the pier was lit up with the fires of warships. A more modern pier, equipped with berths of reinforced concrete structures, the inhabitants of the city saw when Peter I demanded that all the walls of the built canal be strengthened with cobblestones and moss.

Later, at the suggestion of the architect M. Zemtsov, the reconstructed walls of the canal were lined with tiled stone and brick, and the bottom part was laid with a cobblestone. Today, passenger and ship routes are organized to the attraction, and a modern platform for helicopters has been erected near the pier in Petrodvorets.
