gnab. Griboyedova Canal, 43, St. Petersburg

Description:

The flour bridge is located in the Central district of St. Petersburg and is thrown over the Griboyedov Canal in the area of Muchny Lane, connecting the Spassky and Kazan Islands.

The metro station "Sadovaya" six hundred meters from the bridge. The name of the bridge was received from the flour warehouses that were located nearby in the XVIII century and gave the name of Muchny Lane.

In 1931, there was another bridge-thermal pipeline with three spans, but in 1951 the bridge was rebuilt under the leadership of engineer Bazhenov, the bridge became single-span and received the function of pedestrian.

The curved steel beam of elegant outline covers the steel span, and the embankment walls serve as supports. From each end of the bridge there are gentle stairs, and the road part is paved with boards. In 1931, a wooden pedestrian bridge was erected in three spans, the length is 22.5 meters, and the width of 2.3 meters, is located opposite the Mulchny Lane. The need for heating pipes affected the speedy construction of this bridge.
