G. I. Vege's mansion
Description:
Georgy Vege was an industrialist who founded an ultramarine plant (now NGO Pigment). The mansion was built in 1890 at the factory by an unknown author. The mansion is remarkable as an example of eclectic style. It was decorated with rich stucco and casting, wall and ceiling paintings, many mirrors and gilding. There were also stained glass windows known throughout the city, stolen directly from the frames.
Unfortunately, the mansion is now dying. Inside, dampness and fungus destroy the finish, outside up to 80 cm of cobblestone - a cultural layer of the 20th century.
It can no longer be rebuilt, although urban activists believe that it is not, just no one wants to spend too much money. In any case, be careful, going there for a photo walk - the mansion is in disrepair.
