Monument to A.A. Akhmatova on nab. Robespierre

Description:

The creators of the monument to Anna Akhmatova were the sculptor Dodonova and the architect Reppo. Its installation fell in the winter of 2006. The monument is located next to the Cross prison. This place was not chosen by chance, as during the repression Anna Akhmatova spent several painful months at the walls of the Crosses, waiting for the release of her son. She described this period in her works.

The monument to the poetess was built after local authorities held competitions for the improvement of the territories of St. Petersburg and the embankment of Robespierre. The aforementioned sculptor and architect took first place with the project about the memory of Akhmatova.

You can get to the monument by metro, reaching the Lenin Square station and walk to the Arsenal Embankment. As well as by land transport, reaching the stop Mikhailov.
