Monument to Dostoevsky

Description:

The monument to Dostoevsky is located in the Northern capital in the heart of Vladimir Square.

Sculptor L.M. Holina developed the sketch in the mid-1950s, but the installation took place only in 1997. The sculpture of the famous Russian writer, originally proposed for execution in granite, cast in bronze. The initiator of the monument on this square was the Museum of memory of F. M. Dostoevsky. Here, on the corner of Yamskaya Street and Kuznetchny Lane, the great writer spent the last days of his life. Every year in July, the opening of the city literary festival “Days of Dostoevsky” takes place next to the monument.

Getting to the sculpture in honor of the famous writer is most convenient from the metro station “Vladimirskaya” (the walk will take no more than 5 minutes).
