Monument to Lomonosov
Description:
In St. Petersburg, for the 250th anniversary of the founding of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a monument was erected to the great scientist M.V. Lomonosov. The scientist is depicted in a free brooding posture, the manuscript in his hands, with a gaze looking into the distance, without a wig and robe. A monument with the figure of a scientist about three meters high was installed near the State University.
At the monument to Lomonosov, on the corner of the University Embankment and Mendeleevskaya line, first-year students of the university are traditionally dedicated to students on September 1.
