Description:

On the Petrovsky Embankment there is a unique monument to the sailors and creators of the Russian fleet. It is located opposite the Nakhimov school. The location was not chosen by chance. In 1992, a competition was announced for the best project of the monument, which lasted about two years. The official opening took place in November 1996. This sculpture is made of bronze – an allegorical figure of the goddess of victory Niki, 8 meters high. It stands on a granite pedestal, as if floating on the crest of a wave, above it seagulls. Nicky has a copper pennant and a steel sailboat in her hands. It symbolizes the courage and courage of the sailors. The square in front of the monument is lined with granite plates. Broken flower beds. You can get there by bus 46, 49, metro, tram 6.40, taxi K30.
