Monument to Vasily

Description:

The monument to Vasily was opened in 2003. According to me, the island in St. Petersburg was named in honor of Vasily Kormchin. The author of this monument is Lukyanov G.

In 2001, a competition was held, the purpose of which was to choose the best monument capable of conveying the image of Vasily Kormchin. To get to the monument to Vasily in St. Petersburg, you can pave the route to Andreevsky Boulevard. This is where the monument was erected. On the arrow of the island, Kormchin was appointed commander of the bombardier company. Peter the Great sent dispatches to Kormchin, saying in them: "Vasily, to the island." There is a legend that after this incident, the island was named after Vasily Kormchin.
