Park of Internationalists in St. Petersburg

st. Petersburg, at the intersection of pr. Fame and st. Bucharest

Description:

Internationalists Park is a park in the Frunze district of St. Petersburg, bounded by Bucharest Street, Glory Avenue, Southern Highway and residential development at the former brick factory. The park also historically included a small area behind the South Highway, but after assigning the entire green area behind the South Highway the name of the Heroes Fire Park, the site actually moved to it.

It is named after the Soviet soldiers-internationalists who performed their duty in Afghanistan in 1979-1989.

On the territory of the park there is a temple of St. George the Victorious, a monument to soldiers-internationalists, a monument to special forces soldiers, an open amphitheater, as well as two ponds and a tram terminal station "Prospect of Glory".
