Sand promenade
Description:
Sand embankment is a fragment of the embankment of Malaya Nevka in St. Petersburg, located
on the Pharmacy and Petrograd Islands. It runs from the Kamennoostrovsky Bridge across the Youth Bridge to the Great Krestovsky Bridge.
On the Sand Embankment there is a chapel at the church in the name of St. Martyr Firs and Prp. Savva Pskovski. The chapel was built in 1908 by the architect Benoit L. N. at the almshouse and school of F. M. Sadovnikov and S. G. Gerasimov. Today in the building of the former almshouse there is a third pedagogical institute. A little further along the embankment in the house No10 is the mansion of M.A. Novinskaya and V.A. Zasetskaya, built in 1914 in the style of neoclassicism.
