Monument to Princess Alexandra Nikolaevna
Description:
In Peterhof - the famous suburb of St. Petersburg, there is a unique bench-monument, designed by A.I. Stackenschneider.
This touching memorial of pink marble is dedicated to the youngest daughter of Emperor Nicholas I. The Grand Duchess was talented, beautiful and educated. She was a favorite in the family, but died at the age of 19 from consumption.
The bench with the bust of Grand Duchess Alexandra Nikolaevna made of white marble on a marble pedestal is located in the Lower Park of Peterhof, near the Lion (Hermitage) cascade. The monument bench, recreated and updated in 2000, always attracts many tourists.
You can get to Peterhof by meteor quickly and comfortably - a river rocket. From the piers in St. Petersburg near the Admiralty and the State Hermitage, meteors ply every half an hour.
