Sculptures of Dwarfs in Sestroretsk

Description:

Near the Central children's library named after Sergei Mikhalkov at Tokarev street, 10 symbolically located a sculptural group consisting of seven dwarves. Seven small fairy-tale creatures tell about the history of the city of Sestroretsk to both local residents and guests of the northern capital. This sculpture is very interesting in that each dwarf differs from the rest in its character and behavior. The first dwarf climbed a pile of books in order to illuminate the world of open reading, the second points to the pages of the travel journal of Peter I of 1714, which tells of the arrival of His Highness on the river “Sister”, the third and fourth lurked on the lawn to enjoy the book, most likely purchased in the library in the vicinity, the fifth, wielding a pen, keeps the necessary notes, the sixth, tired of reading, fell asleep, and the seventh smokes a pipe, enjoying the nature of Sestroretsk. They are all different, but they have one thing in common: the love of reading.
