Metro Station "Rebellion Square"
Description:
The station "Station of the Uprising" is located on the Kirov-Vyborg metro line of St. Petersburg, between "Vladimir" and "Chernyshevskaya". The station was opened in 1955. It got its name due to its location on the square of the same name. Since 2011, the station has been included in the Unified State Register of Cultural Heritage Sites.
The pavilion is located at the intersection of Vosstaniya and Nevsky Street, as well as Ligovsky Prospects. Its design is made in a classical style and resembles the layout of the temple: a circular building, on the sides of which the risalites are attached. The structure, considered one of the symbols of the metro of the northern capital, has a rotunda with a spire on which a star is installed in a laurel wreath. The second ground exit leads to the Moscow station.
"Insurrection Square" is a pylon station of deep (58 m) laying.
The underground hall is decorated on the theme of the October Uprising of 1917. The base height of 1.05 meters is the lowest among the metro stations of the city. The vault of the central hall has a rich decorative finish with elements of classical architecture.
