The name is associated with the Finnish village of Kalina, which was in this place in the 17th century. The modern name was given in the 1930s. Several times reconstructed, in 1965 began work to restore the historical appearance. In the Committee for the Protection of Monuments, the bridge is registered. There is transport and there is a pedestrian part.
The bridge can be reached from the left bank from the Nevskaya metro station along Staro-Peterhofsky Prospect.
