Akademik Pavlov Street
Description:
Academician Pavlov Street is located on the Pharmacy Island in the Petrograd district of St. Petersburg. It runs from Kamennoostrovsky Prospekt to Aptekarsky Prospekt. In 1820 it was two independent streets, which were called Lopukhinskaya road and Fishing embankment. In 1887, they were united in one Lpukhinskaya street in honor of Prince Lopukhin P.V., who had a dacha plot in this area.
The street received its real name only in 1934 on the 85th anniversary of the famous Russian physiologist I.P. Pavlov. In the house No12 there are laboratories of the Institute of Experimental Medicine, where the academician worked for 45 years.
