Vsevolod Vishnevsky Street

St. Petersburg, Russia

Description:

Vsevolod Vishnevsky Street is located in the Petrograd district of St. Petersburg. It runs from Small Avenue to the embankment of the Karpovka River. Vsevolod Vishnevsky Street is divided into two sections, which are connected almost at right angles. Until 1912, the site to Chkalovsky Prospekt was called Teryaeva Street after the name of the Teryaevsky Drinking House located here.

On the site, which is located perpendicularly, there was previously a pond with islets. But it was bombarded and became a continuation of Vsevolod Vishnevsky Street. In 1964, Teryaeva Street was merged with Textile Street, forming a modern street Vsevolod Vishnevsky. It was named after the Soviet playwright. He lived here near the house number 10 on the street Professor Popov.
