Upper Swan Bridge
Lebyazha groove, Central district, city of St. Petersburg
Description:
The need for the Swan Bridge arose in the XVIII century. In 1720 it was built with wood. After almost 40 years, it was made stone. It was rebuilt along with the construction of the embankment on the Neva. The author of the project was Y.M. Felten. He made for the Swan Bridge a boot support with granite cladding. The fence was completely concrete.
Already at the beginning of the XXI century, the construction of the bridge is repaired again. It is made entirely of monolithic reinforced concrete lined with granite. It was reconstructed by engineers L.A. Krushelnitsky and B.D. Vasiliev.
The main feature and difference of the Lebyazhie Bridge from other bridges in St. Petersburg is that around it there are a lot of attractions. What are only the Field of Mars and the Summer Garden?
