Ascension bridge
Description:
The Ascension Bridge, located in the Admiralty district of our northern capital, was thrown over the Krivusha River (the current Griboyedov Canal) in 1735. The building received its name from the church of the same name located nearby.
At first, the bridge was wooden, and after the construction of the embankments of granite, the structure acquired stone foundations and a beam span of wood, later replaced by a rigel-sloping one. During the Second World War, during the bombing, the crossing was damaged, after which the builders installed durable metal structures, updated floor lamps with lamps and fences.
To get to the sights is simple, address: the city of St. Petersburg, Voznesensky Avenue.
