Hare Island

Hare Island (Petropavlovsk fortress), St. Petersburg

Description:

Hare island in St. Petersburg is located in the Neva Delta. It was from a small island that the history of this great city began. The first building of the Northern capital of the country was a fortress built on a small island, with a frivolous name - Hare. Now we know this fortress called Petropavlovskaya.

The name of the island was given to the Finns because there were many hares on it. On the support of the Ioanovsky Bridge there is a 58-centimeter sculpture "Baby", with which all visitors love to conduct photo shoots.

Guests of the island will certainly enjoy a large number of daily excursions. The program includes the Museum of History of St. Petersburg Peter and Paul Cathedral, Mint and Botny House. From entertainment in the summer, a favorite beach holiday by locals, and in the winter various festivals.

The location of the attraction is incredibly convenient - in the center of St. Petersburg, a 5-6 minute walk from the metro station Gorky.
