Pavlovsk Palace Museum

Sadovaya Street, 20, Pavlovsk, St. Petersburg

About the company:

30 km from St. Petersburg is Pavlovsk, known for its palace and park ensemble, the center of which is the Pavlovsk Palace and the monument to Paul I.

The palace in Pavlovsk was built in 1787 in the classical style - with columns and bas-reliefs. It was created by architect Charles Cameron, and completed the project Vincenzo Brenna and Andrei Voronikhin. The peculiarity of the palace is that it has come down to our days in exactly the form in which Cameron planned to build the building many centuries ago.

Unfortunately, the interior of the palace during the Second World War was destroyed by the Nazis. But it quickly began to recover, despite the fact that the fighting continued. Undoubtedly, Paul and his wife Maria Fedorovna paid great attention to the furnishings of the rooms, which were decorated with French tapestries, paintings, and many gilding.

All rooms of the palace are open for public access. Concerts and festivals are regularly held in the park near the palace.
