Museum of History of Photography

The museum was founded on August 18, 2003 on the initiative of a number of individuals and public organizations. The main difference from the existing Museums of Photography in Russia is the universality of the collection, which includes as the ultimate goal all aspects of the existence of world photography for the entire period of its existence. Thus, despite the extensive collection of equipment and technology, the priority in the activities of the museum is the presentation of photography as an artifact, research and curatorial work with images.
