About the company:
The Museum of the Department of Pathological Anatomy, which is one of the largest pathoanatomical museums in Europe, was founded in 1921 by Professor Ball N.D. The collection of the museum began to be created in those years by teachers of the Leningrad Veterinary Institute and veterinarians working throughout the country. It was then that unique and currently irreplaceable preparations of sapa, anthrax, plague and pneumonia of cattle and others appeared in it. In 1958, the collection was significantly replenished with preparations from the Institute for the Advancement of Veterinary Physicians. To date, the museum has more than 8000 microscopic preparations for pathological processes and animal diseases, and their number is constantly increasing. The museum stores more than 40,000 histological preparations of pathological processes. In the pre-war years, artists Anna and Grigory Garnak worked at the department. The museum houses more than 1,700 original drawings of pathological processes and organ changes in animal diseases. The museum collection is housed in 3 museum rooms.
