Museum-apartment of Elizarovs
About the company:
The museum in the apartment of Tenin’s older sister Anna Ilyinichna and her husband Mark Timofeevich Elizarov was opened in 1927. The apartment is located in a house built in 1912-191.3 by the architect Alexander Ehrlich. Together with Anna and Mark Elizarov, until his death in 1916, Lenin’s mother, Maria Alexandrovna Ulyanova, lived in the apartment.
Lenin and Nadezhda Krupskaya settled here in April 1917 after returning from emigration and lived at this address for three months. During this time Lenin wrote about 150 works.
There were meetings of the Central Committee of the RSDLP (b), the newspaper Pravda was edited, Yakov Sverdlov, Nikolai Podvoisky, Joseph Stalin and other prominent Bolsheviks were there. The apartment recreates the interiors and memorial atmosphere of four living rooms. The exposition of the museum tells about the Ulyanov-Elizarov family, Lenin’s activities in Petrograd in April-July 1917.
